It certainly seems that Khamzat Chimaev has recovered from the ailment that forced his removal from his recently scheduled bout with Robert Whittaker.
Chimaev, 30, was due to fight former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in the headline fight of the UFC’s first event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia late last month but withdrew from the contest citing illness. He was replaced in the fight by one of his former opponent, Ikram Aliskerov, who was defeated by Whittaker by first-round TKO.
But while no firm plans have as of yet been announced, the UFC’s return to Abu Dhabi in late October seems to be a good bet for Chimaev’s return and judging by footage released on social media this week, ‘Borz’ is ready to go — as Russian influencer Mikhail Litvin found out when he volunteered to spar the UFC contender in what was billed as a “one minute survival challenge.”
It went exactly how you might have expected.
Chimaev last competed in the UFC in October of last year in Abu Dhabi where he scored a majority decision win against former UFC champion Kamaru Usman.
