United States Olympic swimming legend Michael Phelps shared some of his expertise with beloved rapper Snoop Dogg this week in conjunction with NBC’s coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
In a video posted on the NBC Sports X account, Phelps and Snoop got into the pool, and the 23-time Olympic gold medalist provided some of his best swimming tips:

Swimming is HARD! 😅

The most humorous part of the video came when Phelps informed Snoop that wingspan and lung power are the most important qualities of a strong swimmer, to which Snoop quipped, “You just described me.”
Few celebrities have been more supportive of Team USA at the Olympics over the years than Snoop, and that has undoubtedly continued in Paris.
When Caeleb Dressel won a gold medal in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay last weekend, Snoop was in the crowd cheering him on alongside Dressel’s wife and son.
Dressel is one of the all-time great Olympic swimmers, having won eight gold medals during his illustrious career, but no one comes close to matching Phelps.
Phelps is not only the greatest swimmer of all time, but it can be argued that he is among the greatest and most dominant athletes of all time as well.
Across four Olympic appearances, Phelps racked up 23 gold medals and 28 total medals, both of which are all-time records by a wide margin.
Snoop may not have the aptitude to swim like Phelps, but he couldn’t have picked a better teacher than the best swimmer to ever grace a pool.
