Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey drilled home a 66-yard field goal during Saturday night’s preseason action against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Had Aubrey made the kick during the regular season, it would have tied the NFL record for the longest field goal ever made in a game.

Brandon Aubrey has become the NFL’s best kicker, which means he just might be the most valuable Cowboy, capable of winning 3 or 4 games if given the opportunity. He just closed the half at Vegas with an effortless 66-yarder. What a weapon.

Aubrey told The Athletic’s Dianna Russini last December that he believed he could hit a 70-yard field goal in an NFL game. That would come in four yards over the record set in 2021 by Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.

After seeing the apparent ease with which Aubrey put the ball over the crossbar Saturday night, some NFL fans believe he could hit the mark this season.

Next Gen Stats said that Brandon Aubrey’s kick would have been good from 72!!!!

The Cowboys are basically in scoring position when they’re at midfield with Brandon Aubrey as the kicker. That would’ve been good from 70+ yards.😂😂

SOUP @ACdaGDB

Pretty sure Brandon Aubrey has got 70+ in that leg

Aubrey, signed by the Cowboys out of the USFL, set NFL records during his rookie Pro Bowl season with 99 touchbacks and 35 straight field goals to open his career.

The second-year kicker could set more league standards this fall. If Saturday’s field goal is any indication, Aubrey is capable of breaking Tucker’s record if he gets a scoring chance from at least 67 yards out during the regular season.
