It’s not often a game manages to slip beneath our radar, but when it does it’s usually for good reason. And in the case of Summoners Kingdom: Goddess it’s because this new game is releasing under a slightly different name. Yes, you may remember we covered Summoners Kingdom way back when it was first announced, so what’s changed on release? Well, let’s dig in and find out!

In terms of gameplay, this is a 3D, card-based ARPG, so you know precisely what you’re getting into. However, this time around the focus seems to have shifted more to the female characters for reasons we can all speculate about. But otherwise, if you’re familiar with this kind of game it isn’t really pushing the boat out mechanics-wise.

I admit the one thing that throws me off in the gameplay I’ve seen is the mixture of more realistic and cartoony characters. But in a game that’s been in early access for so long, I’m not necessarily surprised that things have changed.

The new gameplay and theme of the game do throw me off a bit, as it seems there’s more of an emphasis on 2D art compared to the more cutesy, but fully 3D preview videos we’ve seen before. If you’re looking for a new 3D ARPG to play I reckon that Summoners Kingdom: Goddess will fill the gap, but otherwise I’m not sure how well it stands out.

But in the meantime, if you’re looking for top mobile games to play, there’s no better place to start than our very own list of the best mobile games of 2024 (so far)!
