Israel set up a company in 2022 just to sell pagers that would end up with Hezbollah and other enemies. There are some online indications of company history going back to 2019.
They registered it in May, 2022 and got the license to make them from the real Taiwanese company Gold Apollo. Most of the exploding pagers were delivered in early to mid-2024.
The company actually importing the devices is Norta Global Ltd., in Sofia. It was another fake or shell company.
Real untampered pagers were also made.
The timeline of BAC Consulting and the Hezbollah pagers:
2022: BAC Consulting was registered in Budapest, Hungary, in May, with Cristiana Bársony-Arcidiacono listed as the single owner. This company was later revealed to be potentially linked to Israeli intelligence as a front or shell company.
Its CEO Cristiana Bársony-Arcidiacono told NBC that she knew nothing about the explosions. “I don’t make the pagers. I am just the intermediate. I think you got it wrong,” she said.
The Hungarian government said the company had no manufacturing or operational site in the country.
BAC sent some pagers sent to Lebanon starting in the summer of 2022.
In 2023, BAC Consulting was selling pagers under a license from the Taiwanese company Gold Apollo. These pagers were branded with Gold Apollo’s trademark but were actually manufactured by BAC Consulting or under its direction.
Early 2024: Hezbollah did have a problem where Israel could track cellphones. Hezbollah leadership ordered that all Hezbollah should switch to pagers from cellphones.
September 17, 2024: Reports emerge of simultaneous explosions across Lebanon involving pagers carried by Hezbollah members. These incidents resulted in at least 21 deaths and thousands injured.
The pagers were built to explode when a code was sent to trigger them. They were built by Israeli intelligence, Mossad. They would also have spying systems to monitor and transmit movement and communications.
