Drake is bringing his just-announced Anita Max Win Tour to Australia and New Zealand, and the concert leg has a decidedly interesting “kickoff” date.

The Toronto native revealed the seven-performance series on social media, amid a continued beef with the Super Bowl LIX halftime show headliner Kendrick Lamar. As most already know, the artists’ feud, now fueling high-stakes litigation, looks to be quite far from resolving.

Moreover, as we noted when Funkmaster Flex voiced support for Drake earlier this week, even if the confrontation did simmer down heading into the new year, it would probably heat back up before, during, and immediately after the Super Bowl.

But if that’s the case – and regardless of which developments the coming months bring – Drake won’t be in his native Canada (or even North America) when the GNX creator Lamar takes the stage in New Orleans.

Rather, the 38-year-old will be delivering a show of his own nearly 9,300 miles from The Big Easy, during the first of two planned concerts at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena. This, Live Nation noted when detailing the series in a formal release, will be the rapper’s first time performing Down Under in about eight years.

To state the obvious, that Drake is beginning the tour leg on the same day as the 2025 Super Bowl doesn’t appear coincidental.

Among other things, the fact underscores the apparent unwillingness of Drake, still engaged in the above-highlighted legal battle with Universal Music, to move on from the Kendrick Lamar beef. And with Lamar having taken aim at the five-time Grammy winner in the mentioned GNX last week, it’s safe to say that the unwavering disdain is mutual.

Following Melbourne shows on February 9th and 10th, Drake will perform in Sydney on the 16th and the 17th, in Brisbane on the 24th, and, rounding out the Oceania visit, in Auckland on the 28th and March 1st, per the current schedule.

Unsurprisingly, fans will have multiple chances to buy tickets before the general onsale initiates at noon local time next Friday, December 6th. That includes a Mastercard presale beginning on December 3rd – eligible customers will also be able to secure “access to some of the best tickets” on the 6th.

Not stopping there, the presale tidal wave will invite Vodafone and One NZ customers to purchase passes on the 3rd, before those enrolled in the Westfield shopping center’s membership program receive a presale opportunity of their own beginning on the 5th.
