Belgium’s Updated MXon Roster: Jago Geerts to Replace Liam Everts

Liam Everts suffered a hard crash after a collision with fellow countryman Lucas Coenen in moto two at the MXGP of China over the weekend. KTM said in a press release on Monday morning that Everts had successful surgery to repair a broken C5 vertebra. KTM added the third-generation rider is expected to make a full recovery and after the race, Coenen was extremely apologetic about the situation. However, with Everts out for the remainder of the season, he has been replaced on Team Belgium’s Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations roster. Yamaha’s Jago Geerts will now race the Open class alongside of the Coenen brothers, Lucas and Sacha.

Team Belgium has confirmed the three riders that will be sending to represent the flag at the 2024 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in Matterley Basin, United Kingdom on the 4th, 5th and 6th of October.

After Liam Everts sustained an injury during The Oriental Beauty Valley MXGP of China and will not be able to compete for Team Belgium this year, Jago Geerts will jump on his factory Monster Energy Yamaha YZ450F to wear the Belgian colors.

– Lucas Coenen (MXGP)
– Jago Geerts (Open)
– Sacha Coenen (MX2)
