Roc Nation has announced it has merged its Roc Nation Label and Equity Distribution divisions to form Roc Nation Distribution. The platform is open to all artists.

Roc Nation says by merging these divisions, blending business and recreating the formula, Roc Nation Distribution will sign any artist at any time to allow creatives to avail themselves of technology, music business expertise, and freedom. Roc Nation Distribution is a hybrid, offering a unique blend of services for artists.

Artists who partner with Roc Nation Distribution are independent, retain ownership of their master’s and creative control of their art. Artists also receive data analytics from a proprietary dashboard and have the ability to opt into various services across the company. Roc Nation says it will sign artists in all genres around the world, because Roc Nation was founded with an independent spirit and an artist-first mentality.

The formation of Roc Nation Distribution is a natural transition in the music space. The mission is to support and empower independent artists while providing them with the tools and services they need to distribute their music. All artists signed to Roc Nation Label will join and benefit from the new Roc Nation Distribution structure.

“The music industry is undergoing a significant transformation,” Roc Nation says. “The rise of direct music distribution channels, combined with the influence of social media, has reshaped the traditional landscape. These developments have created a direct connection between artists and consumers, empowering artists to take greater control of promotion, marketing, creative direction, and business development.”

Roc Nation says how fans engage with artists and music has transformed the industry, which necessitated a change in its approach to music consumption. Megan Thee Stallion recently opened up about her experience with Roc Nation management and how working with Jay-Z has helped her shape her career.

“Never did I ever think that I was actually going to be managed by the people that I looked up to,” Megan Thee Stallion says in a recent episode of Club Shay Shay . “It just feel like a big family. They’re just so intelligent—they’ve been through everything. They still going through it right now. But they just know how to carry it.”

“They told me, ‘You need to do this on your own,’” she continues. “You should be able to figure out how to get out here and be your own boss.” Megan Thee Stallion inked her management deal with Roc Nation back in 2019.
