“The Real Mafioso”: Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield Take the Internet by Storm as They Join Hands Ahead of Jake Paul Press Conference

The infamous ‘Bite fight’ of 1997 made them the worst of enemies. But now, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are good friends and business partners. The same event that sparked their bitter rivalry, has become a great marketing tool for their joint business venture. Together, they launched an edible cannabis product in the shape of Holyfield’s ear known as ‘Holy Ears’. Now that the 27-year-old long hatchet has been buried, Tyson has decided to join hands with Holyfield again for a “legends meet-up” ahead of his big fight against Jake Paul on November 15.

Additionally, the meetup will surely “set the tone” for Tyson’s upcoming Jake Paul presser on August 18. Whether Holyfield accompanies Tyson to the press conference remains to be seen. In the meantime, fans couldn’t keep calm as they witnessed both legends make a grand entrance for the meet-up. Old memories came rushing back as fans took a trip down memory lane.

The ‘Real Deal’ took to Instagram to share the video footage of him making an entrance with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson for the event. He captioned the video, “Setting the tone”. Let’s set the scene: a bearded Mike Tyson, in a casual ‘Iron Mike’ tee and jeans; and Holyfield, wearing a dapper leather jacket, with his shades tucked into his T-shirt, strolled into the venue like they owned the place. The hip-hop soundtrack in Holyfield’s post added a banger touch as the legends graced the venue with their presence. The details of the “meet-up” are not clear yet.

However, Tyson has a press conference coming up for his upcoming fight against Jake Paul in a few days. And, Mike being seen along with Holyfield is great for his exposure ahead of his return to the ring following his exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

For the uninitiated, Tyson will again face off against Jake Paul at the Fanatics Fest in NYC. The duo will participate in a press conference which will be hosted by renowned journalist and Super Bowl Champion, Ryan Clark with Peyton Manning as the special guest. The event will be broadcast live on Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix’s YouTube page.

Meanwhile, two of boxing royalty’s finest representatives together sent boxing fans on a reminiscence trail.

Another boxing fan claimed that Tyson and Holyfield were two of his “favorite fighters of all times “. They said, “Both my favourite fighters of all time and 2 all time greats.” Both boxers were iconic fighters with distinctive styles, who fought in the same era and became heavyweight champions at different stages in their career.

One boxing fan appreciated the fact that both fighters are now friends despite their bitter rivalry during their fighting days. They stated, “True fighters are not ‘enemies.”

Another boxing fan made a pun referencing the infamous “bite fight” incident. For the uninitiated, the rematch between Tyson and Holyfield on June 28, 1997, ended in controversy as Tyson bit off Holyfield’s ear midway through the fight, and the referee Mills Lane decided to disqualify Tyson. In the aftermath, Tyson was suspended and did not fight till 1999. The fan intending a pun, remarked, “They get together once a ear.”
