Colorado football star Travis Hunter is a talented two-way athlete who plays wide receiver and cornerback, but he’s apparently a solid fisherman as well.
Hunter faced his head coach, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, in a fishing competition at a lake on his Dallas area property. Hunter caught 10 fish to Sanders’ three for the easy win.
Sanders is in his second season coaching Colorado. He led the Buffaloes to a 4-8 record last year. It was an under .500 result yet still a big improvement over the 1-11 mark the Buffaloes put up the year before Sanders’ arrival.
Hunter fared well on both sides of the ball, catching 57 passes for 721 yards and five touchdowns and adding 31 tackles, five pass breakups and three interceptions.
Sanders, Hunter and the rest of the Buffaloes now head to the Big 12 for a new challenge as the team looks to make further improvement off last year. Week 1 will feature Colorado host North Dakota State on Thursday, August 29.
