Saturday’s UFC event in Riyadh is a go after Friday’s weigh-ins in the cultural capital of Saudi Arabia.
Both men in the main event, former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker and his short-notice opponent Ikram Aliskerov, both his the scales without incident with Whittaker taking his one-pound allowance to weigh in at 186-pounds. Aliskerov, despite taking the fight on about a week’s notice following the withdrawal of original headliner Khamzat Chimaev, came in below championship weight at 184-pounds.
The all-Russian heavyweight co-main event fight between Sergei Pavlovich and Alexander Volkov is also official after they registered 260 and 258-pounds respectively.
Kelvin Gastelum, who told the media earlier in the week that he was struggling to cut down to the non-title welterweight limit of 171-pounds for his bout with Daniel Rodriguez, weighed in at 184.5 for what is now a middleweight contest. Rodriguez came in at 184-pounds.
Elsewhere, there were no misses on the 11-fight card.
